2018 Annual Report
Summer Cruise Burgee

Buoyed by positive responses to our 2018 cruises, our WHYC Cruise Committee is well along with plans for two more cruises this coming summer. Please take a look at these itineraries, mark your calendars and, if necessary, beg, borrow or steal an appropriate yacht.

In early July, we will head east for several of the best cruising destinations on Narragansett Bay and Cuttyhunk Island, and in September we will head west to Essex, CT and Greenport/Shelter Island, NY.

East Cruise
Saturday July 6th through Sunday July 14th - Register Today!
This year our itinerary offers an open-flexible schedule with "meet-up" ports-of-call. On Monday, July 8th we will gather in Narragansett Bay at the Bristol Yacht Club, with plans to meet for dinner under-the-tent at the club. On Tuesday, we remain in Bristol touring the town or renting bicycles for a ride along the East Bay Bike Path. Wednesday is a transit day with a stay at your favorite port on the way to Cuttyhunk Island. Some may choose to moor in Sachuest Cove with its beautiful crescent beach and National Wildlife Refuge or stop along the way in Newport, RI.

On Thursday, we get underway for Cuttyhunk Island to repeat our wonderful "shore dinner" (lobster boil) at the Fishing Club, with its magnificent view out over Vineyard Sound and Martha's Vineyard. This "annual" has become a highlight of recent cruises.

On Friday, we will run back to Narragansett Bay for a stay in Jamestown, where a Club Member has offered to host a BYOB cocktail party at their residence. Saturday is an open day with options in Point Judith or Block Island as we transit home. Sunday evening, July 14th, we will gather at WHYC for "wash down" and swapping sea stories while we plan to cast off on our westbound cruise in September.

West Cruise
Thursday September 12th through Sunday September 15th - Register Today!
We will gather in Essex, CT with plans to have a cruise dinner at the Essex Yacht Club. EYC has a well-earned reputation for hospitality and is in walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the historic Griswold Inn and Tap Room dating back to 1776, when they first opened their doors for business. Friday is a flex-day with options to either stay in Essex, visit Hamburg Cove, head direct to Dering Harbor, or scoot into Coecles or Sag Harbors. On Saturday September 14th, we will "meet-up" in Dering Harbor for dinner at the Shelter Island Yacht Club or a local restaurant. Sunday will be a quick run back to Watch Hill.

Please be in touch with any Cruise Committee member with any questions, or you may send an e-mail to Or - click on one of the registration form links above to reserve your spot for one or both of these cruises today!
